NARS COVID-19 Policy

To prepare for us to return to live/hybrid meetings, we’ve been very intentional and gradual in our approach to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Based on recent trends and regulatory guidance, Nashua Area Radio Society may adjust these measures, which may change at any time.

As our club’s population may be more at risk than the general public, we started with tighter policies, to begin with erring on the side of safety.

As of the adoption date of this updated policy:

  • Proof of vaccination is no longer required to attend live indoor meetings and other NARS-sponsored activities.
  • Masks are voluntary.
  • The Executive Committee of NARS will meet on the last Tuesday of each month and review the most recent update from the CDC, which is updated weekly on Thursdays. We will use the Covid-19 Community Level, as published by the CDC for Hillsborough County, NH, to determine whether we will have a live Membership Meeting on the first Tuesday of the next month or other NARS-sponsored events.
    • Green means OK to proceed with the meeting.
    • Yellow means EC will review the status and, depending on trends and reasons for yellow, make a decision for the upcoming meeting.
    • Red means the meeting is only on Zoom.
    • A copy of this policy will be posted at all events
  • Link to be provided so members can check the status – CDC COVID Data Tracker: County View – Hillsborough County, NH
  • We will monitor guidance and be prepared to adjust as appropriate.
  • NARS President will review the Covid-19 Community Level published by the CDC for Hillsborough County, NH, on the Friday before the meeting to determine whether we will have a live Membership Meeting. For other NARS-sponsored events the most recent guidance will apply. The President may cancel the meeting or event. The EC may review any yellow situation where the case numbers are worse than the EC approved.
  • The EC may alter this policy to meet immediate needs as situations present.
  • As described above, NARS Club Breakfasts or other indoor gatherings will be evaluated using CDC guidance. Restaurants may not support social distancing in the same way we can in a venue we control. (Already stated)
  • Field Day, SOTA, POTA, or other outdoor activities may be subject to the Green, Yellow, and Red guidance from the CDC as described above. During outdoor activities, please be considerate of your neighbor.
  • Per CDC guidelines, if you believe you may have been exposed to Covid or are experiencing symptoms, you should follow the advice of your medical professional and self-isolate accordingly.
  • Members should check the General Information Forum on N1FD.org on the day of the meeting to determine if the meeting will be held in person or not.

COVID-19 WARNING!

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and others with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By attending a meeting or other NARS event, members voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

All NARS meetings are available on Zoom.

Please help us to keep each other healthy.
