I wanted to post a very brief primer on how to set up NetLogger at your station if you are going to run a net.
Stations not running a net should also download and try NetLogger. It really enhances everyone’s experience when joining (or running) an over-the-air net.
You can download NetLogger here.
Thanks very much,

Great video, Craig! I had heard of NetLogger, but had no idea it was so useful. I am going to start using this for our 2m Repeater Net from now on.
Thanks for the video!
Jamey – I love netlogger. I’ve been using it as an end-user for a couple years now, my favorite thing is checking into the “worked all states” nets.
It is just recently that I’ve started to dig into the use of Net Logger from the NCS standpoint, so i’m sure we’ll all learn a bit as we go.
The other great power of NetLogger is for the stations that are CHECKING INTO the net. They can see exactly who’s on the net, the can see where they fall in the rotation… and they can help NCS with corrections on the fly. 🙂
Plus, the AIM window lets us “chat” on the side.
Of course, Netlogger is for fun, and works best if all the stations are at a base location. Which means mobile or pedestrian portable stations will still be “old school.”
Thanks for watching.
Craig
OK Folks, just finished a live net for our HF Net. The program (NetLogger) worked pretty smoothly!
A handful of items that I want to mention:
1. The net name dropdown still is not pre-populating. Not sure why, I’ll keep digging.
2. The .prf file that contains the customized fields during checkins exists at C:Users%USERNAME%AppDataRoamingNetLoggerMiscProfiles (for Windows7)
3. I will share with other NARS NCS the profile file to seed your installation of NetLogger.
4. Select “Manual Station Highlighter” under the view menu
5. Open the AIM window immediately, stations that stumble onto our net through the online publishing of the net will need more information.
6. Don’t forget to right click on each station and use the “Add/Update Club Info” option after you have customized the information.
That’s about it. If I find any more information, I’ll update as I go.
Thanks again
Craig
