We also got to see (thanks to a really top- notch, if somewhat moody, computer-slide presentation) a few of the difficulties in erecting an impressive array of tower/antenna setups on what was basically the edge of a cliff. The results spoke very loudly indeed, perhaps we can coax Ed into posting the numbers on the NARC web site. Congratulations Ed for a job well done, and hope you’ll share your future trips with us! Here at NARC we’ve got a full platter of upcoming programs:
March: Mike, K7CTW will regale us with new tales of the ARRL, with LOTS of inside poop on the recent changes. Mike sez it’s a meeting worth attending, let’s see what the future holds for hamming!
April: We’ve invited Rob, KD1CY, of the NWS (and “SKYWARN”) fame to give a talk on the great work being done in local volunteer emergency communications, and he has graciously accepted. If you want to get in on the fun, and do some community service at the same time, join us. This rare opportunity promises to be a great session.
May: I will be giving a hands-on presentation and demo of some new kinds of PC-assisted digital communications and other ham related PC topics. I’m planning a wireless (and radio-less) demo of PSK31, if I can get it to work. So, if you want to make better use of that PC in your shack, bring your questions, and get ready to see some exciting new applications.
June: Field day preparations. The good news is that it looks very much like we’ve nailed down the site for this year’s activities: the Hollis/Brookline High School. Contact Fletch, N1MEO for more info on upcoming site reviews and planning!
You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.
Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.
See you at the meeting! de Neil, N1DMA
