The Secretary's ReportMinutes from the February 23rd ExecutiveBoard meeting and the March 1st Club Meeting

President Mike Graham called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM. Secretary Chris, K1SI reported that there was no correspondence. On a motion by Gary, W1GRY, seconded by Mark, N1ZYZ the previous months Board meeting minutes were accepted as published in the February newsletter.
Treasurer Mark, N1ZYZ experienced some minor computer problems and was unable to furnish a detailed report, but did state that the current balance was $2942.66. Mark also reported that he would be billing Dispatch Communications for their newsletter ad. There was discussion as to whether Mark should present the same report at the club meeting as he uses at the Board meeting or if he should present a current, updated report. It was determined that Mark will use the most updated report for presentation at the club meetings. On a motion made by Gary, W1GRY, and seconded by Chris, K1SI, the treasurer’s report was accepted.
Under training, there was discussion that we offer a class and take sign-ups rather than waiting for people to come forward and say that they are looking. This may give a better idea of how many people are really interested and willing to commit to a class. If not enough people signed up, the class would be canceled due to lack of interest.
Programs director Gary, W1GRY stated that Joe Reisert, W1JR had still not confirmed that he would be presenting in March. Gary noted that Al Shuman may be available for a short presentation in Joe’s absence.
The April program is not confirmed with Gary. Possible speakers for future meetings include Don Hornbeck, K1EER, power supply technology, and Ray Faucher, KB1SO, contesting and DX’ing, and Mike Graham, K7CTW, NTS traffic formatting.
Under old business, it was noted that the annual donation to the Library has still yet to be made. Chris, K1SI was charged with the duty of finding some appropriate items to donate and to report back the Board with the details and costs.
Brought back to the table was the topic of the NARC re-mailer. Joel Levin. KD1ON, has stated that he would like to continue the administration of the re-mailer, so he will continue to do so. If problems arise the board will be notified and alternate plans may be made at that time.
Under new business it was noted that Ray Faucher, KB1SO will participate as assistant Field Day Chairman.
Also raised was public service. We are looking into participating in with Sanders, A Lockheed Martin Company, in an explorer post program. The club would be available for technical resources and as a general point of contact for amateur radio. There will be more information to follow.
On a motion by Chris, K1SI and Mark, N1ZYZ the meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
The Classy Junque drawing was held and the winners were KL0KP, N1ZYZ, KB1DOQ, WA1DEI, N1SUE, NO1V, WW1Y, N1FIK, N1UBD, N1YDJ, WB7TXK, W1SU, KE1E, KA1GOZ, WW1Y (again), KB1DOT, N1KIM, K7CTW, K2TE, KB1CKQ, N1ZYY, KB1CKQ, and WB4MDC/AE.
Programs director Gary Chevalier, W1GRY, introduced Al Shuman, N1FIK, and Al announced that he would not be seeking re- election to his position as ARRL Section Manager. Al then made a short speech which touched on some of the highlights and accomplishments of his Section Manager career.
Gary then introduced Joe Reisert, W1JR. Joe who was the former founder and owner of Antennaco made his presentation on the design of Yagi antennas.
Secretary Chris, K1SI reported that there was no correspondence and the minutes of the previous months meetings were accepted as published on a motion by Jim, WW1Y, and seconded by Pauline, KA1LDF.
Treasurer Mark Wagner, N1ZYZ reported that the current balance as of March 1, was$2942.66 and his reports was accepted on a motion made by Jim, WW1Y, and seconded by Chris, K1SI.
Membership coordinator, Tracy Banks, N1WIR, reported that the club membership stood at 164 members in good standing.
Under training, Ed Deichler, K2TE reported 6-8 people are interested in taking a class. Ed is going to look into the possibly getting a class stared for next month.
Programs director, Gary, W1GRY, reported that the April meeting topic has been confirmed that Don Hornbeck, K1EER will make a presentation on power supply technology. The May topic will be contesting, by Ray Faucher, KB1SO.
GOTAP guy, Mark Wagner, N1ZYZ reminded he holds a net on 28.360 MHz, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 9:30 PM.
There was no old business to discuss.
Under new business, Mike, K7CTW, announced that NARC would be represented by Tracy Banks, N1WIR, at a meeting regarding a new Explorer post for kids interested in engineering and technology, and math science.
Don Grant announced that the Daniel Webster council of the Boy Scouts would hold their Jamboree in Gunstock this year on October 1,2, and 3rd. A motion was made by Mark, N1ZYZ, and seconded by Chris, K1SI, for the club to offer its support to the Jamboree. Don, N1UBD, will act as liaison to the Boy Scouts, but will need some help. Details and more information to follow.
