Get On The Air Program

Back to Work

I have heard back from the ARRL and they have stated that GOTAP will continue. Next years proposed NARC budget has money in it cover the GOTAP program so hopefully we will vote to continue the program.

At the Sept. meeting, Chuck, KM4NZ, from HRO mentioned that he would like to start a program with us that would allow new hams to go into HRO at night and learn “the practical side” of operating a ham station. I am getting ready to start scheduling some visits. At this point, we have one volunteer (K7CTW) to bring us in and show us the ropes. If you are interested in volunteering for a night please let me know.

At this point, I am hoping to contact as many of the GOTAP folks as we can handle. However, this should be open to all, not just the GOTAP folks. If you are interested in learning more about the “operations” side of ham radio, let me know and I’ll add you to the list. We can handle a group of 5 to 7.

Over the summer, I stopped running the code practice on 28.360 MHz. I plan on starting this back up in a limited fashion. I will try to be on every Tuesday and Thursday night at 21:30 local time. The frequency will still be 28.360 MHz.

If that spot’s busy, I’ll move down in 10KHz increments until it’s clear. Remember that KD1AW runs a CW net on Wed nights. Nashua Area Radio Club

Monthly Spiels

GOTAP is a program that the ARRL has put together in order to help new and existing hams get on the air and stay in the hobby. If you are finding it difficult to get on the air please contact me and I’ll do my best to have NARC help you get up an running.

If you know anyone who needs GOTAP help have them contact me or get me their names. Over the summer, I stopped running the code practice on 28.360 MHz. Let me know if you would like to participate in this and we can set up a schedule.
