Minutes from the June 29th Executive
Board meeting and the July 6th Club Meeting

June 29th Bored meeting

President Mike, K7CTW, called the June meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club bored of directors to order at 7:34 PM.

On a motion by Bob, KD1AW, seconded by Jack, the minutes of the two previous bored meetings were accepted as published.

Treasurer George, WA1DEI reported the club balance was $2,938,37 without all of the Field Day expenses recorded. On a motion by Bob, KD1AW, seconded by Don, KA1GOZ, the treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

There was no membership report available.

Activities coordinator Ed, K2TE, announced the club tour to the Marconi Museum in Bedford was set for July 18 at 4 p.m., with a special “pizza night” at Shorty’s following the tour. He also announced plans for a tour of the U.S. Air Force Tracking Station at New Boston set for September.

Training coordinator and president of vice Bob, KD1AW, reported the CW training net was underway on 10 meters. A fall novice- technician class is being developed. There was discussion about developing some kind of program for tutoring or mentoring upgrade candidates, but no action was taken.

Programs coordinator Jack, WB4MDC, reported the program for July would be a video tape from the ARRL. The August program will be Paul Wade, W1GHZ, who will discuss VHF and UHF mountain- topping. The September program is being arranged by Tracy, N1WIR, concerning PCS over cable.

Under old business, Field Day Incident Commander Fletch, N1MEO, reported Field Day was over! He also noted work was underway to find a new site.

There was no new business and on a motion by Bob, KD1AW, seconded by George, WA1DEI, the meeting was adjourned.

July 6th Club meeting

President Mike, K7CTW, called the July meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club to order at 7:03 PM. There was no Classie Junque available so introductions followed. Program coordinator Jack,WB4MDC, then proceeded to show a video on Hams in Space from the ARRL, especially selected by Jim, WW1Y.

Following the video tape presentation, president Mike called for the reading of the minutes of the previous two club meetings. On a motion by Jim, WW1Y, seconded by Pauline, KA1LDF, the minutes were accepted as published in the bulletin. The motion carried.

Treasurer George, WA1DEI, reported the club balance stood at $3,827.48. He also outlined the current status of the budget. On a motion by WW1Y, seconded by Nick, WB2EYB, the treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

Membership coordinator Tracy, N1WIR, reported there were 151 members in good standing.

Activities coordinator Ed, K2TE, announced plans for the Marconi Museum tour July 18, at 4 p.m. followed by a special “pizza night” at Shorty’s following the tour. On Sept. 10, he has arranged a tour of the U.S. Air Force Tracking Station in New Boston beginning at 6:30 p.m.

FDIC&S (Field Day Incident Commander & Stuckee) Fletch, N1MEO, announced a Field Day planning meeting was set for July 18 at the First Church of Nashua at 10 AM.

Training coordinator and president of vice, Bob, KD1AW, reported the CW net was operating on 10 meters and a novice- technician class was in the works for the fall.

Program coordinator Jack, WB4MDC, announced the August program would be presented by Paul Wade, W1GHZ, on VHF and UHF mountain topping. The September program is being arranged by Tracy, N1WIR, and will be on PCS over cable.

Mark, N1ZYZ, GOTAP coordinator, reported two of the hams contacted under the program participated at Field Day. He also is operating a net on 28.360 MHz.

Jim, WW1Y, provided an overview of the unofficial Field Day tallies for this year. They can be found on the club web site at http://www.n1fd.org/fd/fd1998/score.html.

He also announced the next VE session would be held in Salem July 16. The Next Nashua VE session will be Sept. 12 at the First Church of Nashua, at 9 AM.

On a motion by Jim, WW1Y, seconded by Jack, KE1HS, the meeting was adjourned.
