We've been threatening you with it for some time now, and its happening now. On Wednesday nights at 8:00 PM (local) look for the new NARC CW net. Set that dial to 28.150 MHz, get out those pencils, scratch pads, and... oh yeah, dust-off that key.
The purpose of the net is to provide a friendly atmosphere for folks a bit nervous about getting on the air with CW. Although the preferred speed will range from 5 to around 13 WPM or so, a quick hello from those that insist at running 35+ WPM are welcome too(just don't expect a reply). Emphasis is on a clean fist, not speed. Let's learn to do it right before we learn to do it fast. Besides, the throughput is usually a lot higher without all those repeats and fills due to incomprehensible sending.
The net will be called with the following procedure: "NCWN NCWN NCWN DE KD1AW KD1AW KD1AW K" Check-in after the "K" with your full call sign. After a few folks have checked in we'll started with some informal comments from those in the net. The net will be carried on in some what of a round table fashion, until everyone has had a chance to do some sending with their comments. After all is said and done, the net will adjourn.
Don't forget, even those 30+ WPM folks all started out in the same boat as us. Hope to see all those interested on Wednesday night.
