10 Meter CW/SSB Sprint

There’s a new 10m sprint starting up. Its purpose is to promote contesting, encourage beginners, and have fun. We encourage everyone to join in, regardless of your abilities. The only way to improve is to practice. The sprint is run by Jeff, N1SNB, and Al, N1SMB and sponsored by the Amoskeag Radio Club in Manchester, NH.

OBJECTIVE: Work as many stations as possible on CW & SSB, once per mode during the hour of the contest. We're trying to keep this as simple and fun as possible.

REGISTRATION: 30 minutes before the contest. Register by phone at 603-622-4712, email via lps@grolen.com, on 147.330MHz+ (N1SM/R), or 28.450MHz. Registration before the sprint is encouraged, but anyone can register before or after the event.

TIME: Even numbered Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 PM local time. FREQUENCIES: 28.400-28.430(CW) and 28.430-28.500(SSB). If the band is open, please be considerate of others!

EXCHANGE: Call, Name (must be at least 3 letters), RST, and State. E.G. N1SNB JEFF 599 NH or N1SNB JEFF 59 NH

SCORING: Score 3 points per CW QSO, 1 point per SSB QSO. Total score is total points times number of states. Report your scores using the same method you used to register. If via radio wait till called. Give call, name, CW points, SSB points, Total states, Total score & license class.

AWARDS: Certificates and recognition for CW, SSB, & CW/SSB. Results posted on a web site to be announced. We are looking for sponsors, we’re cheap!

POWER: 150 watts PEP , single op is encouraged, Use only the radio for this contest, no prearranged QSO’s.

MAXIMUM CW SPEED WILL BE 10 WPM! WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ENFORCE THIS! This is to encourage people who are not CW experts to participate. Anyone violating the 10WPM limit will have all CW points disqualified.
