Respectfully submitted by Jim Denhup, N1NYG | |
Old Business: The Heedles/Denhup motion to accept the June NARC Meeting minutes was passed.
Jim Heedles, WW1Y, noted in his Treasurer's Report that the club's balance is still basically that stated at the June meeting. The club took in approximately $700 from Field Day food sales but Field Day expenses have not yet been submitted. Jim's collating the June newsletter manually has saved approximately $60 this month. Great work!

Fletch Seagroves and Jim Heedles discussed the previous three day's activities during Field Day. The NARC club operated 24 stations simultaneously to qualify for the 24A class designation. There was even a laser transmission in the gigahertz region, a first for the NARC club.
New Business: Jim Heedles noted that we will send our annual contribution to the Nashua Soup Kitchen soon since this is the period of their greatest need everyone contributes at Xmas but few contribute during the summer.
The board meeting was adjourned by the passing of a Heedles/Denhup motion at approximately 7:41.
Club Business:
A Fletcher/Heedles motion was passed to accept the published Secretary's Report.

The club took in $704.05 from Field Day meal tickets but Field Day expenses have not yet been submitted.
The treasurer's report was accepted as presented.

Chris Garon, KA1SIE, in his program report reminded us of the next upcoming program: August: Doug Grant, K1DG, on Contesting
A brief Field Day Report was presented by Al Simons, WA1TYB. The club successfully achieved class 24A when 24 stations were transmitting simultaneously at 4:45 Saturday! The first estimate of scoring results looks like approximately 21,580 points for all of the contacts made. Many new band records were established. Full details will be presented in a fall NARC meeting. Since the June 1996 Field Day will be his last in charge, Al is looking for an apprentice to learn the ropes by working with him over the next year. If you would like to lead the NARC Field Day effort in 1997, please contact Al.
Chris Garon, KA1SIE, played a VCR tape of the United Airlines Flight 232 disaster. This was the complete analysis of the events leading up to the crash and rescue as recounted by the actual pilot of Flight 232 and included the taped conversations of the flight controllers and pictures taken by people on the ground. Two of the six key points presented which allowed the saving of over 150 passengers that could affect NARC hams: the importance of establishing and maintaining communication control over communications nets and taking rescue/training drills seriously. The seriousness of the film kept us on the edge of our seats for an hour and a half until we were forced to leave so that the library could close.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:49 PM.
