NOPTA is over but here is an interesting 2017 activity:

Here is a listing of the 2017 Summits On the Air (SOTA) from K0NR’s website: http://www.k0nr.com/wordpress/

Here’s your handy list of North American Summits on the Air (SOTA) activities for 2017, as supplied by Guy N7UN:

Thanks for posting this Layne. Hey Jamey, you and Abby were somewhat active with SOTA? Do you think that we could create an interesting set of club activities around SOTA activations? What might this look like?

    Fred,

Abby, Connor and I have all done some Summits on the Air and we love it! I think we could get a fun event going for members and I think it would also be of interest to some of the youth.

We could pick a summit that we are able to drive up as well as hike up to appeal to a broad range. Pack Monadnock is close by and has a road up it and is an easy hike. Also, some of the ski mountains are accessible by ski lift in the summer as well as being able to hike up.

Let me know what you think. I can search some locations and maybe get a day planned in the spring for anyone that might be interested.

    73,

    Jamey
