In preparation for Nashua Area Radio Club’s Morse Code classes, I had a chance to review Sigurd Stenersen, LB3KB’s, PC program entitled “Just Learn Morse Code”. This program can take your all the way from the fundamentals of learning each character to full fledged words. I am impressed by it’s simplicity, yet comprehensive learning platform.
It uses the Koch method, adding one character at a time. Each session lasts for 5 minutes. Once you reach 90% accuracy, you add a new character. I like the word learning part wherein you learn the top 100 words you will hear on the air.
I give it a grade of “B+”.

I am not impressed with the video Morse Code Machine program reference. Try to learn without any visualization of dots and dashes. You want to learn the total ‘sounds’ of the characters, not visualize symbols.
