    A Holiday Call for Articles

Imagine this (if you’re retired substitute where appropriate), you’re at work, the boss is micro-managing you, your coffee is luke-warm, you’ve got a million things to do, and you just need something to give you a pick-me-up and get you through the day. Hark, herald angles sing! Your muse appears and whispers in your ear with a jollyness to rival that of St. Nick: Write an article for the Nashua Area Radio Society December Newsletter. You realize that indeed is the remedy!

We are planning to publish our December newsletter before the holidays are on top of us and we’d really like to have your article!

And to sweeten the pot (no artificial sweeteners considered) the best holiday related amateur radio article will be our front page story. You got it folks, now you too can claim celebrity. It’s basically the same thing as being on the front page of the NY Times.

Maybe you’ve built something new recently, had an interesting experience, learned a new operating or technical skill, saw something interesting on the Internet, put up a new antenna or improved your station, did something interesting during an Amateur Radio activity that you can share, worked an interesting station, DXpedition or event. You get the idea.

All of these topics and many others make interesting articles for others to read about. Articles do not need to be very long either. A picture or two and a few paragraphs is all that you need.

We are especially interested in reading about our members’ backgrounds and interests. This is particularly true for members who are on the 2018 Executive Committee. Please take a minute and write your Member Spotlight today. Here are some good examples of member spotlights to help you to get started –

When you write an article on our Blog, it reaches many more Amateurs beyond the folks who are members of NARS/ Our website makes it simple and speedy to write an article.

Several of our articles have been featured as front page news on sites like QRZcom.

It is really easy to create an article on our blog. All you need is a web browser and an idea! Here’s a post which explains how to do it. If you’d like some help, just send me an email and I will find some time to help you to create your article right here on our website.

We hope that you can find a little time to create an article for our December newsletter. If you don’t, it’s quite possible a lump of coal will be in your stocking on Christmas morn’ while you’re trying to enjoy that mimosa. And in the distance, you may hear Santa crying.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!
