Technical Resource Committee Charter


Mission: Provide members of the Nashua Area Radio Club with a means for obtaining competent technical advice and information to further their individual knowledge and skills or resolve problems with establishing and maintaining amateur radio stations to meet all regulatory requirements.

Tenure: The Technical Resources Committee shall be a standing committee, serving until such time as dissolved by the Nashua Area Radio Club Executive Committee.

Committee Membership: The Technical Resources Committee shall be comprised of a Chairman and such members as may be required to fulfill the mission of the committee. The Chairman shall be nominated by the Chairman of the Nashua Area Radio Club Executive Committee and approved by majority vote of the Nashua Area Radio Club Executive Committee. Committee membership shall be voluntary. Committee members shall have demonstrated competence in the areas for which they will provide advice, preferably by academic and/or professional field experience.

Committee Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities of Committee shall include:

  1. Provide advice and assistance in as timely a fashion as is reasonable and appropriate.
  2. Ensure that technical information provided is accurate.
  3. Ensure that application of recommendations or advice result in operations that comply fully with regulatory requirements and applicable technical standards.
  4. Obtain assistance from outside technical resources when necessary to assure quality of information provided.
Committee Chairman Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities of the Committee Chairman shall include the following:
  1. Establish and maintain a list of committee volunteers and their specific areas of technical expertise.
  2. Ensure volunteer members are qualified to serve as members of the Technical Resources Committee.
  3. Ensure that methods are established for any Nashua Area Radio Club member to identify needs for advice/assistance, routing requests to appropriate Committee members, and routing responses back to the member requesting assistance.
  4. Ensure that a list of external technical resources, as may be required to supplement or enhance the capabilities of the Nashua Area Radio Club Technical Resources Committee, is maintained.
  5. Ensure that the Committee functions in full accordance with this Charter.
  6. Provide regular reports to the Nashua Area Radio Club Executive Committee regarding Technical Resources Committee operations.
  7. Provide Nashua Area Radio Club members information on what Committee capabilities are available and the methods for utilizing them.
