Funmobile to be at NARC Field DayThanks to the club's procurer extraordinaire, Chris, K1SI (AKA Mr. Kaizee) ICOM America, is loaning us the use of their “FunMobile”. Thanks to them we'll need a few less shelters this year for Field Day.
If you missed seeing the FunMobile” last year at the NARC meeting, this is a large RV covered by a full
color mural, and sporting the latest ICOM radios inside.
The “FunMobile” will be located prominently by Tower 2. Ron, NU1U's RV will get relagated to the ditch (along with Ron). It has ample room for two operating positions, which will be 10 meter CW and our Satellite stations. Additionally, since satellite is an intermittent madhouse, the funmobile will host at least one other station (160 meter SSB) and possible more. And with it's own onboard generator and A/C, Don't you wish you'd signed up for the 10 CW station now.
Don't forget to check out the latest ICOM gear while the funmobile is here. And look for ICOM ads
in the July issues of QST and CQ VHF. They mention us!
And, of course you want to know about our gracious ICOM host, Ray Novak, KB7ZJA.
Ray Novak is ICOM America's Sales Manager for the North Central U.S. area. If you have any questions about radio ops, make sure to ask Ray; he's ICOM America's former Tech Support Lead, and he really knows his stuff. Ray, a General Class ham, has worked in electronics for many years. Originally from Mississippi (where he loved stock car racing), Ray now lives in the Chicago area with his wife and four young sons.
