Our Next Meeting ...

“So little time,
So much to show...”

January is historically the month for Project night, and this year was no exception. We had a great turnout; we filled the room with good people and good ideas! Thanks go to our presenters who risked humiliation and personal injury: Spi (Larry), K1CWZ; Jim, N1SJF; Colleen, N1HAJ; Nancy, KW1LTR; Matt, N1ZYZ; and Jack, WB4MDC. Bravo!

Spi led off the program with an inspired discussion and demo of the joys of QRP, and shared his self-built array of coordinated gear; Jim stumped us all on his mystery device, which turned out to be a cleverly reclaimed and repackaged clothes iron; Colleen shared her baby quilt (for her new grandchild, congrats to Colleen and John!); Nancy shared some hand-made call-sign crafts; Matt showed his new automated keyer kit; and Jack rounded out the evening with a cool GPS antenna and HIS keyer kit.

You don't want to miss the next few months, we've got some really exciting programs coming; February: Ed, K2TE, has offered to share his recent DXpedition to Grenada with us, pictures and all. Ed sez: "It’s good to be DX!!" Come and find out why.

March: Mike, K7CTW will regale us with new tales of the ARRL, with LOTS of inside poop on the recent changes. Mike sez it's a meeting worth attending, let's see what the future holds for hamming!

April: We've invited Rob, KD1CY, of the NWS (and "SKYWARN") fame to give a talk on the great work being done in local volunteer emergency communications, and he has graciously accepted. If you want to get in on the fun, and do some community service at the same time, join us. This rare opportunity promises to be a great session.

May: I will be giving a hands-on presentation and demo of some new kinds of PC-assisted digital communications and other ham related PC topics. If you want to make better use of that PC in your shack, bring your questions, and get ready to see some exciting new applications. You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.

See you at the meeting! de Neil, N1DMA
