“An Era of Good Feeling”

December is always an important meeting date. First of all it is election time. The members of the club get to cast their votes for the next elected board. Secondly, while the votes are being tabulated, awards will be presented. Who will get these certificates? The recipients are the unsung heroes in the club. The men, woman and children who have dedicated their precious time, resources and abilities for club related activities. How are these awards determined? The club members were asked to fill out nominations. Help recognize these distinguished contributors and exercise your privilege to vote as a NARC member.

Special thanks to November’s guest speaker Mike Raisbeck K1TWF, Vice-Director of the New England division of the ARRL. If you missed this one, Mike addressed the audience about issues relating the future of Amateur Radio. He discussed and answered questions about licensing restructuring, band threats and what amateur radio may look forward to years from now. Thank you Mike for this informative talk.

This will be my last article as Programs. Thanks to all who have contributed, participated, and helped me through 1999!

Don’t forget that January is Project night. The rules of the evening are simple; just show up and plan to spend about five to ten minutes talking about your latest endeavor. It doesn’t have to be radio related. Anything that’s homebrew, from QRP rigs to quilts makes for an interesting evening. February evening’s program will be a show and tell of a recent DX expedition. Stay tuned.

You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.

See you at the meeting! de Gary, W1GRY
