“An Insider’s Look into the Future”

So what’s the scoop. What’s the FCC up to lately? Is a Novice Class operator going to be grand fathered to a Technician. Is the current code requirement for an Extra going to be dropped? What is the ARRL vision into the next millennium? And finally what preparations has the ARRL made to assist the area for Y2K readiness? Mike Raisbeck K1TWF, the Vice-Director of the New England division of the ARRL will be available to address these issues. Mike plans to discuss ARRL current events and to answer ARRL related questions. Get a vision into to the future, please plan to attend this informative NARC program.

Special thanks and appreciation to Dan Norton W1FX, NARC’s October guest speaker. If you missed this one, Dan educated a (yes another) quorum audience about PSK31, the latest and greatest digital mode. Specifically, Dan played for us a quick interlude via cassette, explained what PSK31 is, described the equipment and software necessary to get on the air, and distributed handout outs with information on how to get started. There are now many new warblers living among us thanks to Dan!

December’s program is Awards Night. Currently I have only ten nominations! December may be a short program. Please get your selections to me before then. A call, name, and a short description of heroics are all that is required. Please help the club recognize these unsung heroes. Requests may be sent via Email or placed in the specially indicated box at the next meeting. January is Project night. Programs for February and beyond are needed.

You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.

See you at the meeting! de Gary, W1GRY
