“A Night at the Opera”

Well not quite, but I promise to make it entertaining at least! For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been putting together, with the help of a few enlisted friends, a musical melody of video clips from past field days. Don Hornbeck K1EER was nice enough to tape this year’s main event. For those attending, you may have witnessed him roaming around the site with a cam recorder. Jack WB4MDC provided the videos from previous years. This is my first attempt at film/trailer making (however I did put together a radio play for my 8th grade English class project; received an A). With the help of Tracy, N1WIR, and some magical editing software, expectations are high. Make sure to invite the film critics and the Hollywood talent scouts because you are not going to want to miss this NARC exclusive. (Tracy, Don, Jack and I will be available for photo opportunities and autographs at no charge after the meeting.)

A special thanks and appreciation to July’s program speaker, Colleen Gaffey, N1HAJ. Colleen’s presentation revealed the inner workings of the ARRL area 1 QSL bureau. All NARC DX’ers now know the ins and outs of sending QSL cards inexpensively. Get those SASE’s to the bureau, there may be a DXCC QSL card waiting for you. (Editor’s note: The W1 QSL bureau prefers cash not SASE’s. Keep your sorter happy!) You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.

See you at the meeting! de Gary, W1GRY
