“Send It Via the Bureau”

Postage isn’t cheap. Sending a QSL to a foreign country could run you from 50 cents to a buck. Have you ever been delivered a directly mailed DX QSL that looks as if you might as well have found it on the side walk? NARC program help is here. Colleen Gaffey, N1HAJ will explain to an ice cream craving cost sensitive bunch of amateurs how to beat the postal system and QSL for a fraction of the cost. Colleen will acquaint us to the inner workings of the ARRL QSL Bureau; specifically how the bureau works and the pros and cons of QSLing in this manner. Colleen volunteers as a sorter for the ARRL region 1 QSL bureau. Please make time and effort to attend this informative program.

A special thanks and appreciation to June’s speaker, Jim Heedles, WW1Y. Jim displayed an extensive tour of slides outlining the club’s Field Day preparations. In his presentation he discussed the importance of safety, safety, safety, setup, tear down, safety, safety, food, food and safety. He also exhibited a colorful slide showing on the previous years QSO break down. Stay tuned for more information on exclusive NARC programs.

You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics make next month’s program!! Tell me about them.

See you at the meeting! de Gary, W1GRY
