“RTTY”

That’s right. Radio TeleTYpe.

Some of you already familiar with using radio teletype on the air know that it’s easier to do when things work right. Well, this month Ray Ortgiesen, WF1B, and author of “RTTY” the contester’s RTTY program will be joining us from Rhode Island to share some of his contesting savvy. Ray just returned from a DXpedition in Aruba and hopefully he’ll be able to give us his thoughts about being the target for a pile-up.

If the technology gods are kind to us, he may be able to give us a live demonstration of his software package.

Well, frankly I was surprised as to how the “Stump the Experts” panel was received by the club members last month. I was a little worried when I ask for questions in the newsletter and didn’t get any. They started to trickle in, however and we had enough to use up all the time allotted for the program segment of the meeting.

Thanks goes to all the questioners and especially Bob, KD1AW, John, WS1E, and Mike, K7CTW, members of the club’s Technical Resources Committee for their willingness to sit up tall and be bombarded with your questions.

This may become an annual event for the club if you, the members want it.

You don’t have to be a member of the club to share in the fun. Join us at the Nashua Public Library for this month’s meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club.

Your favorite topics can be next month’s program!! Come visit with us and everyone bring some ideas along for new programs.

See you at the meeting! de Jack, WB4MDC
