Al, W1JOF showed us his audio/PTT motor cycle mobile interface. Jim, WW1Y gave us his version of a coax feed-thru window from his basement. He demonstrated his newly constructed toy; a paddle ball made from a 3 ft length of 2X4, a Bungee cord and an 8” rubber band ball. Rich, W1HZN explained his 40 meter mobile antenna mount. Bill, KA1NDR’s computer controlled ‘2AT portable seems to lead a “shielded” life, as does his 10 meter transceiver. K1SI’s T- shirt (you know, the red one with “#1 AGAIN, 1996 ARRL FIELD DAY”) was a surprise. Chris’ artistic abilities are astounding!! Bob, KD1AW gave us a look at his home brew pre amp, power splitter, and T/R changeover sequencer. And Harry, WA1VVH gave us a glimpse of his 2.4Ghz RX, 23 cm TX PA, and his interdigitated filters for the bands.
This month we’ll be treated to a “new” facet of Amateur Radio. Ralph Swick, KD1SM and Stan Pozerski, KD1LE are planning to demonstrate one of the newest modes for packet radio; APRS or Automatic Packet Reporting System. This involves radios (of course), computers, packet TNCs, and a relatively newcomer to the electronic gadgetry scene, the GPS receiver.
All are welcome to attend the meetings, member or not. So join us in the basement of the Nashua Public Library, Monday, February 3rd, at 7:00 PM for another exciting meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club. (Jim, did I get the name right???) (Ed Note: Check with your ARRL section manager for the names of area radio clubs)
