Minutes from the November 27th Executive
Board meeting and the December 4th Club Meeting

November 27th Bored meeting

The meeting opened at 7:13 PM with the following officers in attendance: Chairman Don Dillaby, KA1GOZ, vice-president Fletcher Seagroves, N1MEO, Secretary Jim Denhup, N1NYG, Treasurer Jim Heedles, WW1Y, and Activity Director Stu Sherman, N1STY.

Old Business:

The secretary’s report was accepted as published.

Jim Heedles, WW1Y, noted in his Treasurer’s Report that the club’s finances were approximately the same as mentioned in the NARC monthly meeting. Additional income from advertisement income from A & B Signs and Rivendells. Artwork for Field Day T-shirts looks good and 60 will be made. The Heedles/Denhup motion to set T- shirt price at $15 passed. The Sherman/Seagroves motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was passed.

In his Training Report, Fletch discussed starting a new Novice/Technician class in January as well as a weekly slow code practice net on 10 meters.

In his Activities Report, Stu Sherman, N1STY announced that the preparations for the XMAS party on December 9 are on schedule.

New Business:

The Heedles/Denhup motion to enter executive session was passed.

The Heedles/Seagroves motion to exit executive session was passed at 8:10.

The board meeting was adjourned by the passing of a Denhup/Seagroves motion at approximately 8:16.

December 4th Club meeting

Club President Don Dillaby, KA1GOZ, started the meeting at 7:04 p.m. with the traditional Classie Junque drawings. The ten winners were: Jim Denhup, N1NYG, Ed Deichler, K2TE, Lee Vormelker, N1QZL, Steve Haber, N1LHW, Bob Koontz, AA1LM, Niece Haynes , KA1ULN, Joe Santos, N1UJF, Diana Carlson, KC1SP, Dave Banks, N1SUE, and Joel Levin, KD1ON. Don continued with the call sign introduction to the initial 44 members and guests in attendance. Several more members and guests came in while the meeting was in process.

Club Business:

Election ballots were distributed and collected. While counting progressed, the prestigious NARC Awards were presented. See the front page for a list of the winners.

Many thanks to the nominating committee, consisting of Henry Wells, K1CII, Mary Jane Warren, WA4WIJ, and Bob Peret, KD6LFW, for organizing such a great slate of officers for 1996!

The Jim Heedles, WW1Y, treasurer’s report described the latest changes to the club’s financial statement including the November 30, 1995 treasury balance of $801.56. The following data was noted: $295 in lower advertisers income, we are 20 memberships behind last year’s projections, Christmas Party expenses have started and ticket income will occur later, and newsletter expenses are still over budget due to the postal increase. The budget is approximately $982 over budget. The Pauline Wells/Sherman to accept the treasurer’s report was passed. Jim asked if there were any comments or changes to the 1996 preliminary budget discussed at the last meeting and included in the NARC Bulletin. No comments were made. The Pauline Wells/Joel Levin motion to accept this budget was passed.

Joel Levin’s, KD1ON, membership report noted that the NARC club currently has 129 active members as of 12/4/95: 37 Family Members, 7 Permanent Members, 78 Regular Members, 5 Senior Members, and 2 Student Members.

The Stu Sherman, N1STY, Activities Report announced that the preparations for the Christmas party on December 9 are on schedule. A commemorative 1995 Field Day N1NH #1 T-shirt has been designed and will be priced at $15.

Chris Garon, KA1SIE, noted in his Programs report that upcoming programs include: January 96: Project Night.

Project night is where you get the chance to show off whatever you have been working on in the past year. It doesn’t have to be amateur radio related. Past project nights have included hand-crafted goods.

The club members passed the Royer/Haber motion to adjourn to coffee and donuts at approximately 8:01 PM.
