Hospitality and Radio NARC has it!

When I first found out about the Air National Guard training I would go to in Nashua, I began immediately to mispronounce the town's name. So I thought this is how the rest of my stay in New Hampshire would go. But with the many miles (880) from home, the isolation from anybody closely resembling someone from "my neck of the woods" presented some real challenges. I did not know what I was in for until I went to the Thursday night pizza get together the club had on July 6th.

I introduced myself and explained why I was visiting the area and right away the cold isolated feelings of loneliness vanished. Field day activities and the upcoming convention sped the conversation along as well as the time. And the pizza was excellent. An invitation to the Saturday breakfast meeting brought more activity to what could have been another hold down in my motel room. Attempts at code training could only entertain me for so many minutes before sheer boredom would put me asleep.

The training I underwent at Lockheed Sanders was super and I attribute the class's success to the hospitality and friendship displayed by the members, including a fellow ham far, far from home. Thank you for the time and camaraderie. Holler at me when you get in "my neck of the woods".
